Outdoor Activities

Fishing:

All year round fishing in the Blackwood River feeder creeks and brooks, for Redfin perch and Rainbow trout in the winter months. Redfin perch is an introduced species and is similar in taste to whiting, an exceptional eating fish caught on lures and worms all year round.

Golf:

Balingup has a wonderful Golf course, however one of the best kept secrets in the South West is the Greenbushes Golf course. Delightful setting with well manicured lawn greens. Come and see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

Trail Bike Park:

Golden Valley Tree Park:

A great place to start is the
Golden Valley Tree Park, a magnificent
60 hectare Arboretum  featuring a unique collection of  beautiful and interesting trees from all over the world, grown in a landscape setting. Lots of great walks and picnic areas.

 

 

 

Bibbulmun Track:

This world famous  walk trail starts in Perth and winds its way through forests, farmland and coastal landscapes and ends up in Albany.

Balingup is one of the very few towns that the track passes through.  Balinga Cottages offers FREE transfers for day walkers, so depending on you fitness level, we can drop you off and you can walk back to your warm , cosy cottage. This is a very popular and hassle free way  of  enjoying the Bibbulmun track, Group bookings welcome.
